“Abando did more in offense than he gave in defense” Smile of manager Kim Sang-shik

KGC defeated SK and returned the series to square oneㅋㅋㅋ벳

Anyang KGC Ginseng Corporation won 81-67 in the match against the Seoul SK Knights in the second leg of the 2022-2023 SKT Adot Professional Basketball Championship held at Anyang Gymnasium on the 27th.

KGC, who gave up Game 1, took Game 2 and turned the series back to square one. The defense that tied the opponent to 67 points was the driving force.

Coach Kim Sang-sik said, “The preparations were well done. It came out the opposite of the first game. I focused on defense, reduced Kim Seon-hyung and Warney’s points, and prepared a defense from the front to lose stamina, but it turned out as I thought.”

Moon Seong-gon’s defense shined. Moon Seong-gon, who scored 4 points, did not have much presence in offense, but in defense, he blocked Kim Seon-hyeong (10 points) and ran all over the court.

Coach Kim praised, “He blocked it well. I prepared a lot, but (Moon) Seong-gon did a good job. He had strength in defense, so Seong-gon put pressure from the front, changed the match in the second line, and prepared in that way.”

Omari Spellman (13 points) also did her part, blocking Jameel Warney (9 points).

Manager Kim said, “Omari Spellman was a little excited in Game 1. Today, on the contrary, I think Warney was excited because he was not able to attack. I will remind you of what went well and reflect on it.”

Regarding Lens Abando, who regained his SK killer appearance with 18 points, he said, “He did well. He scored 3 points in defense, but he did more in offense. I plan to go out and leave the bottom of the goal empty. I told them to do it confidently if it falls.”
