Jonatan had a drink with friends in Itaewon, Seoul after playing a home game against Chungnam Asan FC (3-0 win) on the 1st. He went to bed around 1 am on the 2nd and got behind the wheel to move to Anyang at 6:30 am. Jonathan was on the way to a rest area after his car tire blew on the highway, but was caught drunk by the police who tried to help. His blood alcohol level was the license revocation level.
The Professional Football Federation was scheduled to hold a reward and punishment committee after imposing a 60-day suspension on Jonathan. However, since Anyang terminated the contract with Jonathan, the reward and punishment committee was not held.
Anyang general manager Shin Kyung-ho said, “I deeply apologize for causing concern to the citizens and fans of Anyang with an unfortunate incident.”
Jonathan, who started accompanying Anyang in January 2021, played 5 games this season and scored 5 goals and 1 help, and was running for the top spot in the K-League 2. Jonathan, who made a mistake in a good atmosphere, regretted it on SNS (social media), saying, “I sincerely regret my actions and the fact that I put the team in a difficult situation.”
