“Even if it was me, I threw it” vs “I don’t like it” Jordan Poole’s last shot was controversial

Even though Poole performed well, he couldn’t laugh at the end.

The Golden State Warriors lost 112-117 to the Los Angeles Lakers in the first leg of the second round of the 2023 NBA playoffs held at the Chase Center in San Francisco on the 3rd (Korean time).

Jordan Poole has had a rollercoaster ride this season. Poole signed a $140 million extension with Golden State before the start of the season. It was a possible contract because Golden State had high expectations for him despite not having a lot of room for the salary cap.

Poole, who received a gift from the club, played in all games this season and averaged 20.4 points and 4.5 assists. It was a good enough performance for a young guard in his fourth year.

However, he did not receive good reviews for the content. He’s a pool that’s often been on the chopping block despite good records due to poor shot selection, crucial turnovers and poor pre-dish making.

Poole, who was regarded as a double-edged sword, suffered from extreme sluggishness going into the first round against Sacramento. He averaged only 12.0 points and a 33.8% field goal percentage in the first round series. Fortunately, Golden State was able to breathe a sigh by winning the series after a bloody battle in Game 7.

Poole, who succeeded in his survival,크크크벳 changed properly in the first game of the second round against the Lakers. He played 30 minutes, the longest of the playoffs, recording 20 points and 6 assists, while making 6 3-pointers. Clearly, his rebound was one of the driving forces behind Golden State’s ability to keep the game close.

After the match, however, Poole was again at the center of controversy. The last attack that Golden State started with a 3-point lead. Stephen Curry, who had trouble with the opponent’s cooperative defense, passed the ball to Draymond Green, who immediately passed the pass to Poole.

Pool, who was a bit far from the goal post but was free from the defense, tried a deep three without hesitation. There was about 10 seconds left. Unlike the wind of the pool, the shot turned away from the rim, and Golden State, which failed the last important attack, gave up the first game.

Many people’s eyes are mixed on Poole’s attempt at Deep Three.

Poole didn’t have a bad shot feeling until he threw the last shot, making 6 of 10 3-pointers. It’s unclear if Golden State will be able to create better chances in the remaining time. However, there are opinions that he should have taken a shot earlier or looked for other chances because he had more time than a deep three.

Indiana’s Tyrese Halliburton, who watched the game that day, said, “I don’t know what’s wrong with that shot. I wasn’t angry when I saw that scene. I would have thrown it,” he said.

The commentators of ‘TNT’ expressed the opposite opinion. They pointed out that Poole should have stepped, dribbled more, moved forward and attempted a shot, with Shaquille O’Neal stressing, “I don’t like that shot at all.”

The situation is a little different, but in the regular season, when Pool tried to deep three in the fourth quarter, Curry, who could not hold back his anger, threw the mouthpiece in the direction of the crowd and was ejected. The deep three, a risky shot, is still a controversial issue.

Golden State’s reaction to Poole’s shot was, “It was a good enough shot.”

Manager Steve Kerr wrapped Poole after the game, saying, “It was a great shot. I was able to throw enough. I’m happy with that possession. He has already made six 3-pointers, and it was a good opportunity for us.” Curry also expressed confidence, saying, “I have confidence in Poole’s shooting ability.”
