STL Michaelas joins the US national team… WBC appearance

 Reporter Kim Joo-hee = Miles Mycholas (34, St. Louis Cardinals) will participate in the World Baseball Classic (WBC) as the US national team.

On the 13th (Korean time), MLB.com, the official homepage of the US Major League, said, “Mycholas has joined the US national team.”

The fact that he has experience in Japanese professional baseball is expected to be another weapon for Mycholas in international competitions. From 2015 to 2017, Mycholas played for the Yomiuri Giants in Japan.

MLB.com wrote, “If the U.S. faces Japan in the semifinals or finals, Michaelas will face old teammates like current Yomiuri outfielder Hayato Sakamoto.”

In St. Louis, Adam Wainwright, Paul Goldschmidt, and Nolan Arenado have already announced their participation in the national team. Michaelas also fights alongside his teammates.

The WBC will be held in March next year. The United States is tied in Group C with Mexico, Colombia, Canada and Great Britain.
