Director Choi’s record is special. After he took over as manager, he only managed K-League 1 all along, and has the highest win record among active managers with 138 wins to date.
Choi took his first helm in 2011 as acting manager of FC Seoul. After that, he recorded 102 wins, 51 draws, and 45 losses in 198 matches at FC Seoul until 2016, and achieved a win rate of more than 50%, rising to the ranks of masters.
Coach Choi, who returned to the K-League in 2018 after going through the Chinese league, took office as the ninth manager of Gangwon FC in 2021.
Taking charge of Gangwon at the end of the 2021 season, he brought great joy to Gangwon fans by winning a dramatic victory in the promotion playoffs and saving a team in danger of relegation.
Gangwon, which remained in the K-League 1, once again proved Choi’s leadership by achieving the feat of advancing to the Final A the following year (2022). Coach Choi, who has led 43 games for Gangwon FC so far, is loved by fans by transforming Gangwon football with his own color.
In order to repay the fans for Director Choi’s achievements, supporters Narsha will participate in the awards ceremony and hold an event to present congratulatory bouquets.
Gangwon’s home opening match will be held at Songam Sports Town in Chuncheon at 2:00 pm on the 5th.
